LMMSE channel estimation for OFDM systems with channel correlation function selection

In the linear minimum mean square error (LMMSE) estimation for orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems, channel correlation function (CCF) is required. Some methods have been proposed to calculate CCF. Instead of providing a novel method obtain CCF, scheme developed estimator select among different CCFs. this paper, an enhanced LMMSE that able best-matched CCF within candidate set. To end, parameter comparison proposed, in which possible statistics can be evaluated using sampled noise MSE. Analytical expressions are thus derived indicate accuracy scheme. Furthermore, fuzzy bound provided as performance metric, reflects resolution As example application, used with block pilot pattern OFDM and candidates typical scenarios presented. The complexity also analyzed simplified algorithm reduce complexity. Finally, theoretical analysis demonstrated by simulation experiments.
